Follow a route steeped in Australian colonial and Indigenous history; escape is just a few steps away.

Perfect for day-trippers, short walks and long-distance hikers, trail runners and ultra-marathon racers, the 426km Hume & Hovell Track stretches across South-Eastern NSW, from Yass to Albury.

Finishing at the Murray and passing the Murrumbidgee and the Tumut rivers – the long-distance track traverses boardwalks, single track, fire trails and quiet back-country roads, following the historic route of the two explorers after which it’s named.

Stop in for a short stroll with the kids, set out for a day of walking amongst nature, or stretch your legs and pack the tent for a multi-day wilderness adventure. The fully signposted route crosses more than 100 footbridges, runs along rivers’ edges and through cool-climate forests, with 17 dedicated campsites and picturesque picnic spots along the trail.

Surround yourself with quintessentially Australian sclerophyll forests of eucalypts, wattles and banksias, up steep climbs to sweeping views of the valleys below, along boardwalks crossing rich swamplands and or along clear streams of snowmelt, tumbling from the mountains beyond.
